Folklore Ensemble Kopaničiar is an artistic group that has been preserving and spreading traditions of Myjava region for generations. The town of Myjava with its beautiful folklore tradition is the natural center of Kopanice region and also the home of the ensemble. This region is associated with an atmosphere of rare folklore treasure and a deep love of traditions. That is where young folklore enthusiasts founded Kopaničiar, folklore ensemble of songs and dance in 1955.
Thanks to its unique music, dance, and enthusiasm, the ensemble represents Myjava folklore all over Slovakia and beyond its borders. Over the years, the audiences from all over the world enjoyed our shows – from South Korea through China, Tunisia, Egypt and Brazil to Canada.
The ensemble’s uniqueness is presented by temperament dance creations together with unique dance elements of Myjava region, lively melodies and songs, and also by gorgeous folklore costumes that our ancestors used to wear.
